On Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, the Lifecycle Building Center (LBC) invites community members to its annual Revel in Reuse fundraiser. This unique zero-waste event aims to support LBC’s mission of fostering resilient and equitable communities by promoting the reuse of construction materials. The festivities will take place at the Atlanta Utility Works, a historic facility in East Point that has been creatively transformed into a brewery, taproom, and event space.
The evening promises to be engaging as LBC showcases impactful stories that illustrate its mission in action. Attendees will learn about the Nonprofit Material MATCH program and the growing coalition of partners known as ReBuildATL. These initiatives highlight LBC’s commitment to enhancing community resilience through resourceful practices.
Funds raised during the Revel in Reuse event will directly support several key initiatives. Proceeds will bolster the Nonprofit Material MATCH program, which connects organizations in need with surplus materials. Additionally, the funds will aid in the relaunch of LBC’s Home Performance and Do-It-Yourself workshops, empowering community members to enhance their living spaces sustainably. The event will also contribute to the ReBuildATL Coalition’s efforts, which include expanding workforce training, developing affordable housing prototypes, and facilitating home repair initiatives.
Join LBC for a night of celebration, community building, and impactful storytelling, all while championing the vital practice of material reuse. This is an opportunity to engage with fellow advocates of sustainability and support meaningful programs that make a difference in the community.
