The senior Panther alumni community is invited to reconnect and explore the wonders of the ocean at the magnificent Georgia Aquarium. This engaging event offers a unique opportunity to dive into the depths of marine life while sharing experiences with fellow alumni. Attendees will have the chance to wander through exhibits showcasing millions of gallons of water and a diverse array of oceanic creatures, fostering a sense of wonder and camaraderie among the Panther community.
Following this aquatic adventure, participants will enjoy a leisurely stroll to STATS Brewpub, where a delightful lunch awaits. During the meal, attendees will be treated to an insightful presentation titled “Innovations in Wildlife Endocrinology,” delivered by Dr. Rachel Moreland Santymire, a respected faculty member from Georgia State University’s College of Arts and Sciences.
Tickets for this memorable experience are priced at $50, which includes lunch, full-day access to the aquarium, and on-site self-parking. It is important to note that all guests must purchase a ticket to participate in this event.
Event Schedule:
- 9:30 AM – Doors open for check-in at the Georgia Aquarium, allowing guests to begin their self-guided tours of the various exhibits.
- 12:00 PM – Participants will gather for a group walk to STATS Brewpub for lunch.
- 12:30 PM – Enjoy a delicious lunch while attending Dr. Santymire’s engaging presentation.
- 2:00 PM – The formal portion of the event concludes, but guests are welcome to continue exploring the aquarium until its closing time at 5:00 PM.
This event is open to all members of the alumni community, and accessibility is a priority. The entire aquarium is wheelchair and walker accessible, and assistance wheelchairs are available for rent.
