Spooky STEM Event at iFLY Atlanta

Get ready for the spookiest field trip ever at iFLY Atlanta! This thrilling adventure invites students to experience the excitement of flight in a state-of-the-art wind tunnel during an engaging STEM Lite field trip, perfect for children aged 3 and up.

Participants will embark on an exhilarating journey guided by a highly trained STEM educator, who will lead them through an immersive, hands-on experience that includes:

• Introduction and Physics Demonstration: Students will learn about the principles of flight through a captivating demonstration in the wind tunnel.
• STEM Activities: Tailored for students in grades K-8, these activities are designed to spark curiosity and encourage learning. Students in grades 9-12 are also welcome to join in on the fun.
• Flight Training and Gear: Participants will receive training and be equipped with flight gear to prepare for their flights.
• Two Flights: Each registered participant will enjoy two flights, including one exhilarating high flight.
• Instructor Air Show: Witness an amazing air show performed by experienced instructors.
• Flight Certificates: Every flyer will receive a certificate to commemorate their experience.
• Halloween Candy: Treats will be provided to add a festive touch to the event.

Registration Details:

• Refund Policy: Please note that once purchased, no refunds will be offered for this event.
• Capacity: The event is limited to a maximum of 26 flyers, so early registration is encouraged. A minimum of 15 participants is required to host the event.
• Registration Deadline: All registrations must be completed by October 15th at 5:00 PM PST, and the registration will not reopen after this date.
• Waiver Information: Ensure that participants’ names and birth dates match what will be provided on the waiver for eligibility.

Who Can Attend:

• The curriculum is primarily designed for students in grades K-8, but high school students (grades 9-12) are also welcome.
• For groups of 15 or more students, please contact kmcnally@iflyworld.com to arrange a private event.
• Parents or guardians are required to attend and chaperone their students, and there is no fee for chaperones.

Flight Eligibility and Preparation:

• Age Requirement: Flyers must be at least 3 years old.
• Weight Considerations: Participants weighing between 260 and 299 lbs may require additional evaluation to ensure safety, while those over 300 lbs cannot fly.
• Health Restrictions: Pregnant individuals, those with hard casts or non-removable prosthetics, and individuals with certain medical conditions, including head, neck, or back injuries, heart issues, or previous shoulder dislocations, are not permitted to fly.

Costumes & Flight Guidelines:

• Costumes are highly encouraged for this Halloween-themed event! However, participants must be able to wear a flight suit over their clothing, along with goggles and a helmet.
• If a costume obstructs the flight suit or safety gear, it will need to be removed before flying. It’s advisable to wear comfortable clothes underneath the costume or bring a change of clothing to facilitate an easy transition.
• iFLY provides complimentary lockers to securely store props, masks, and other costume items while participants enjoy their flying experience.
